My favourite Viennese shopping area!

Wednesday 24th March... Vienna is a shoppers paradise for all those that love antiques, one offs, designer, forward thinking, and vintage: furniture, clothes and Jewellery.... shops which supply these are in abundance here! And thus, I am in heaven! Yesterday I went on a hunt for the highly recommended Humana store on the Lerchenfelder Strasse, and stumbled accross a few other gems on the way!! My favourite being the Galerie St Urich, tucked away on the corner of Neustiftgasse, this gorgeous shop sells the most lovely second hand wares all beautifully displayed but still highly accessable. The owner was lovely and appeared not to mind my exclamations of amazment at some of the lovely and unique things she had on sale. I ended up leaving the shop with a very old pink teddy, which since is stuffed with straw, the owner suggested meant she is around 100 years old or so! And, a lovely knitted white top with handpainted flowers on it. Special purchases I think...

In all, Viennese shopping is perfect for those who like to rummage through for hidden treasures!

Above, and left: treasures in the Galerie St Urich. Especially loving the pink satin and diamante gown (150 euros).

Humana.... These are second hand shops which can be found around Vienna. However, the Lerchenfelder Strasse branch is unique in that all the best vintage and 'on trend' clothes are sent to this branch. vienna.unlike says: "Bargain budget clothes horses know where to get their fix. The Humana on Lechenfelderstrasse has got the good stuff: a well edited selection of vintage and 2nd hand items that are at times a few steps ahead of trend cycles. What else could you ask for from a second hand charity chain store? Go there and be the first to get something one of a kind and special, at a price that won’t break you."

And they were right... I had a rather fun afternoon whiling away the time trying SO many things on! I left with just one pair of trousers, which of everything I felt were the one thing I could least live without. They are complete one offs and will require some bravery to pull off since they are high waisted, see through chiffon with small shorts to cover modesty! But they are gorgeous!!!!

Special Mention! I found the most brilliant Salvador Dali jacket... v tempted to buy, but at 36 euros, and with such an outlandish pattern I did need to a think! May be back...
