.... more time at home!!!

So I spent an extended week in the UK due to volcanic ash spreading over the skies which meant flight cancellations ahoy and so I couldnt leave the country... I spent my time wisely fitting in lots of touristy activities in London and then going back to Nottingham for 3 days of hardcore partying before finally flying back to Wien on 26th April.

17th April I hotfooted to Landon after work and attended a party with my good friend Stephanie Haines to celebrate the joint house warming and birthday of our friend Claudia. Randomness as usual inc a random party goer (ok he works with Claudia) coming back and staying in Stephs spare room, buying us McDonalds enroute and generally entertaining us by not stopping talking the whole way home! Broken camera= NO PHOTOS!

On finding out my flight was cancelled for Monday 19th April I decided to make the most of being stranded in London town (after all there could be worse hardships in life...) and visted the Tate, the Tate Modern, St Pauls Cathedral and walked around Westminster.

Big Ben and Westminster!!!

This series by Bruce Davidson taken on a New York subway in 1980 and simply entitled 'Subway' intrigued me. Davidson spent days on the subway capturing people day and night as they went about there business, with a great insight into life in New York at the time.

Sneaky pic of an Andy Warhol (hence the blur)

I also frequented the shops in Bond St, Oxford St, Carnaby St, around Spitalfields market and the Brick Lane area soaking in the London vibe, picking up loads of vintage, and generally feeling highly uncool compared to the highly stylish locals!
